Handmade Crafts from Ecuador for Sale
Used for years to make buttons, the tagua palm nut, or "vegetable ivory", can be carved into a variety of finely-detailed shapes, including bottles, earrings and pendants as well as 3-D animals. I even have a portable woven backgammon set with tagua pieces!
Available for $$ and Madison Hours are a range of tagua crafts handmade in Ecuador, as well as a few other items including leather/cloth belts, handpainted wooden boxes, indigo-dyed cotton scarf/shawls and rainforest string bags and necklaces. In addition, I have some "milagros" (miracles) in different shapes for sale, small lead talismans used as votive offerings and great for making charm necklaces.
